Hyaluronic Acid "Filer" Therapy

"Fillers" are a group of injectable treatments which have become very popular in improving the appearance of those parts of the face, which over time, tend to become lined and lose volume.

Popular areas for treatment are the deeper lines around the nose and mouth and the lips themselves.

At Clinic One we use natural "hyaluronic acid" filler therapy (made by Allergan), a very safe temporary filler which (dependent on which material is used and in what part of the face) may remain effective for up to fifteen to eighteen months.

Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance (a type of sugar) that stabilises the skin structure, attracts and binds water, and improves the elastic properties of the skin, improving skin tightness. Tiny quantities of hyaluronic acid are injected through very fine needles, boosting the skin's own hyaluronic acid. Depending how many lines are treated, the treatment takes 20 minutes to an hour.

Compared to more old-fashioned filler treatments, at Clinic One all our fillers contain local anaesthetic agents, making treatment much more comfortable.

The effects can be maintained by small ‘top-up’ treatments as required, generally about twice a year.
