Facial expressions are an essential part of communication, but over time they can contribute to dynamic lines in areas such as the forehead, around the eyes, or near the mouth.
Our team can discuss treatments that work to reduce the appearance of these lines by targeting the underlying muscular activity — always with a focus on maintaining a refreshed but natural look.
-
As we age, natural changes in facial structure can lead to areas that appear less full or defined. During your consultation, we may explore medical-grade treatment options that aim to restore facial balance and volume in a subtle, refined way. Our team uses evidence-based techniques and a medically guided approach to deliver results that respect your natural features.

Fine lines, wrinkles, and skin texture changes are a natural result of time, sun exposure, and environmental stressors. There are a variety of medically guided approaches that may assist in improving skin tone and supporting collagen production — with treatment plans tailored to your goals, skin type, and lifestyle.
At Clinic One, your dermatologist or treating clinician will work with you to explore the most appropriate options, which may include:
Topical Therapies
Some patients prefer a topical-only approach. High-quality sunscreens, vitamin A–derived creams, and selected cosmeceuticals can help maintain skin health and support a more refined texture over time. While results from topical products are typically modest, they can be a useful, low-risk option as part of an overall skin health strategy.
Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Treatments
Medical-grade IPL can be used to target visible concerns like redness, uneven pigmentation, and sun damage. With repeated sessions, IPL has also been shown to stimulate collagen and may contribute to subtle improvements in skin firmness and fine lines.

Freckles and pigmentation are caused by years of too much sun and are especially common on the face, neck, chest, forearms and hands. Many Queenslanders start developing sun freckles as early as in their thirties.
Most freckles are harmless. Freckles can be very effectively treated. At Clinic One, we tend to use BBL (Broadband Light) - medical grade IPL. Downtime of this treatment is minimal.
-
Broken capillaries and redness tend to affect:
The face, neck and chest.
The legs.
At Clinic One we use medical-grade IPL in the treatment of redness and broken capillaries, dependent on where (and how large) the broken capillaries are.
With time, particularly those with very fair skin, become prone to facial redness and broken capillaries.
Although facial redness can result from rosacea and blushing/flushing, many fair-skinned Queenslanders develop unsightly permanently dilated capillaries from too much sun.

Once active acne has settled, many people seek to improve the appearance of residual scarring. At Clinic One, we offer a range of advanced treatment options to help refine and smooth the skin.

Unwanted hair can affect both women and men, often appearing in areas that feel out of place or difficult to manage. At Clinic One, we offer effective solutions for long-term hair reduction using medical-grade IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) and medical epilation.
Medical-grade IPL is ideal for treating larger areas, while epilation is best suited for targeting individual stray hairs with precision. Both treatments work by targeting hair follicles with controlled light energy, aiming to reduce or eliminate their ability to regrow hair. When performed with high-quality medical-grade equipment and IPL great outcomes can be achieved.
IPL hair removal works best on darker hair against fairer skin tones. Results are long-lasting and often permanent, making it a great option for those seeking a lasting solution. It’s important to note that not all hair follicles are active at the same time — around half may be in a resting phase, which means multiple treatments (usually three or more) are needed for optimal results. Over time, some previously treated follicles can become active again, and occasional maintenance treatments may be required.
A common myth is that stopping IPL or laser hair removal will make hair grow back thicker. This is not true. In fact, treated hairs typically become finer and sparser — not worse.
Results are consistently good, and treatment plans can be tailored to suit your needs. Pricing will vary depending on the size and number of areas being treated.

While surgical procedures like facelifts can lift and tighten the skin, they do little to improve overall texture, tone, or clarity — and often come with significant downtime, cost, and potential for complications.
Before the introduction of energy based technology, dermatologists relied heavily on medical-strength chemical peels for skin rejuvenation. Today, chemical peels still play an important role especially when used strategically as part of a broader skin care plan.
At Clinic One, we use chemical peels for two key reasons:
To maintain and enhance results following IPL treatments, as a cost-effective way to support long-term skin health.
To assist in the treatment of stubborn acne, particularly when combined with targeted topical therapies.
Peels can help smooth skin texture, reduce breakouts, and maintain a healthy, refreshed complexion — all with minimal downtime.

Melasma is a common skin condition that presents as blotchy, brown pigmentation often across the cheeks, forehead, or upper lip. Sometimes referred to as ‘chloasma’ or ‘pregnancy mask,’ it can be frustratingly persistent.
In women, Melasma is typically triggered by hormonal changes (such as pregnancy or oral contraceptive use) combined with sun exposure. In men, it’s less common, tends to be milder, and is usually unrelated to hormones.
At Clinic One, we treat Melasma using a tailored approach that may include prescription-strength creams, targeted sunscreens, and advanced laser or laser-like technologies. Because Melasma can be particularly stubborn, we’ve found that Fractionated Erbium laser offers the most reliable improvement in difficult cases.
With consistent care and a customised plan, even the most persistent pigmentation can be brought under control.

Some skin concerns — such as moles, cysts, skin tags, or other benign lesions — are best treated with minor surgical removal. At Clinic One, our dermatologists offer precise, in-clinic procedures to remove unwanted blemishes safely and with minimal scarring. Treatment is tailored to your skin type and the nature of the lesion, with a focus on both medical safety and aesthetic outcomes.

Rough skin texture and enlarged pores can result from a range of factors — including acne, excess oil production, sun damage, and even smoking. These concerns can be some of the most challenging to treat, often requiring a tailored and layered approach.
At Clinic One, we use a combination of treatments to improve skin texture and refine the appearance of pores.
Options may include energy based treatment, medical-grade peels, collagen-stimulating treatments, and targeted skincare — all selected to suit your individual skin needs for the best possible outcome.
