Dr. Alexander Tedman

Specialist Dermatologist

Dr. Tedman obtained his specialist qualifications in Queensland, training within a number of the state’s premier dermatology faculties including the Sunshine Coast University Hospital, Princess Alexandra Hospital, Mater Hospital, Queensland Children’s Hospital, and the Queensland Institute of Dermatology.

Dr. Tedman is a passionate advocate for improving dermatology access in underserved areas. Dr. Tedman teaches training dermatologists at the public hospital and regularly contributes to the preparation of dermatology trainees for their specialist exams. In 2021, Dr. Tedman was recognised as a Queensland Finalist for Young Australian of the Year for his work in regional dermatology outreach. He has also been acknowledged both nationally and internationally for his contributions to dermatology research, with a number of his projects presented at international conferences and publications within leading dermatology journals.

Dr. Tedman’s special interests include:

  • Skin cancer diagnosis and management

  • Comprehensive skin checks

  • Acne and rosacea

  • Psoriasis and eczema

  • Hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating)

  • Hair loss and scalp conditions

In clinical practice Dr. Tedman is known for his energetic and collaborative approach, his focus on tangible results, and his genuine investment in long-term skin health for every patient.

In his spare time Dr. Tedman trains and competes in the state and national Masters swimming circuit. At the 2025 Masters National Championships Dr. Tedman was awarded Gold medals in 50m Breaststroke & 50m Backstroke, Silver in the 50m & 100m Freestyle, 100m & 200m Breastroke and the 200m Individual Medley, as well as Bronze in the 50m Butterfly and 200m Freestyle. He is the current Pan Pacific champion (30-34 years) in 50m and 100m Breaststroke.
